Show me the light..oh!! abode of wisdom
I never jot anything in my space regarding controversial things happening around , but I have gr8 admiration and respect to those who discuss them through their blogs..Recently, the Supreme court has also stated the importance of blogging and the legal loopholes...So I am scared to write any...
However, this piece of news agitated me a lot and I somehow think about the matter everyday since I heard the news..And hence this post...
Being a believer in oneness of God, being a product of a convent school, being a lover of Church, having been experienced the peace and divinity one can get before the altar and above all due to the previous acquaintances I had with nuns (sisters, mothers), I could not embrace the fact, may be not; that Sister Jesme brought before the whole world. 2 weeks ago, happened to see an interview with sister Jesme.. She says the whole system of Ecclesiastical architecture has become unbelievably corrupted. Hearing her words I could not bear the fact that finally the so called most safe place for desserted women ; the lap of Jesus also has become unsafe shelter..I have seen many sisters, they are real love..I still remember Late Sister X of our convent who used to come for our "remedial/Moral Science" periods. Her words were so much of a real inspiration to all, atleast for me that on a particular day of her hour, she had taken us to the apogee of DIVINITY ; I almost took the decision of becoming a nun and surrendering everything to GOD...
I remember the most honest prayers that I took till my 10th grade were those when I prayed before Jesus inside our convent..I remember the peace and calmness I could experience those days when I understood the power of GOD- infact all the GOD.
Those were all the consequences of the Ecclesiastical beauty...the profound transparency of cenobitism i found in the convent. I heard once some rowdy hosteller gal telling " There is nothing praiseworthy about the sisters there in the convent..You dayscholars never know..They refuse to give us chicken legs, but the kitchen staffs make sure that they will get them in their room". How nasty!!?? I never believed that..neither do believe now...
I searched in the net about this new controversy....I was surprised to collect a whole lot of other news similar to ABHAYA , .....Pls go through this post from tehelka
Now, inorder to gain more knowledge about this and to consummate my scattered thoughts and beliefs, I may have to read Sister Jesme's new book - "amen an autobiography of a nun"...Sister Jesme writes in her book ( from Times of India news dated 20 Feb 2009) she got her first rude shock when she was a Novitiate. ''At a retreat for novices, I noticed girls in my batch were unsettled about going to the confession chamber. I found that the priest there asked each girl if he could kiss them. I gathered courage and went in. He repeated the question. When I opposed, he quoted from the Bible which spoke of divine kisses,''
However, The Catholic Church in Kerala is silent on the book .
I wonder Where this world is heading to??? " All those beliefs and customs I had comprehended about the institution of nunnery, are they true?" Let it remain as such in my mind....

hi.. it gives immense pleasure to know we are very open and share our experience and thoughts. first, i am proud to sister jesmi for sharing her experience with us. then, i am glad to say that i am a friend of divya- a girl who keep open her eyes on current affairs.
bad and good things are every stage of each individual's life. our duty is to face with courage and overcome it. then pass your message to a successor who just behind you. believe always that you are only a predecessor....
Dear Chithi,
We both share similar thoughts on this..I too cant generalise the case..
